Accessibility Statement

This accessibility statement applies to the Your Physio website: www.yourphysio.org.uk

This website is run by York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website.

For example, you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts using your browser or device settings
  • zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using only a keyboard

We have designed this website to be as accessible and usable as possible.

We have retained these videos because they provide useful clinical information for patients. Where possible, equivalent information is also provided elsewhere on this website in an accessible text format.

Accessible documents

Printable self-referral PDF

This website includes an accessible PDF version of the self-referral form. The PDF is provided as a printable resource for GP practices and other healthcare professionals to print and give to patients who do not have access to the internet or are unable to complete the online self-referral process.

We provide the online self-referral process as the primary way to access and complete the referral. This allows the information and referral process to be provided in HTML, which is generally the most accessible format and works with a wider range of assistive technologies.

The PDF is provided where a printable version is required for patients who cannot access or use the online service. The PDF has been designed and tested to meet accessibility requirements.

What we're doing to improve accessibility

We are committed to continually improving the accessibility of the Your Physio website.

We will:

  • review the website regularly and address accessibility issues when they are identified
  • ensure new content is developed in accordance with WCAG 2.2 AA requirements
  • ensure new videos include captions where required
  • provide accessible alternatives where content cannot be made fully accessible
  • review this accessibility statement at least once a year and update it when significant changes are made or new accessibility issues are identified.

The accessibility of this website was assessed through a combination of internal accessibility review and accessibility testing by See Green (website provider). The assessment considered the website's pages, content and functionality against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standard.

This statement was last reviewed on 7 September 2026 and reflects the findings of the accessibility assessment completed at that time.

The statement will be reviewed at least once a year and whenever significant changes are made to the website or new accessibility issues are identified. The website will be assessed via audit of web accessibility using a combination of semi-automated evaluation tools and manual evaluation.
